Tragic moments of rescue operations after Israeli airstrike hit residential area in Gaza

KHAN YOUNIS, GAZA - NOVEMBER 18, 2023: Civil defense teams and locals carried out search and rescue operations on Saturday (Nov. 18) after the Israeli army targeted a residential area in the Khan Younis district of Gaza Strip. The attack on the family apartment resulted in reported casualties, including both fatalities and injuries. Local Palestinians in the area experienced fear and panic as a result of the attack. Israel has killed at least 12,000 Palestinians in its air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip since the Oct. 7 surprise offensive by Hamas. The official Israeli death toll stands at about 1,200. Thousands of buildings, including hospitals, mosques, and churches, have either been damaged or destroyed in Israel’s relentless strikes on the besieged enclave. An Israeli blockade has also cut Gaza off from fuel, electricity, and water supplies, and reduced aid deliveries to a trickle.
