Banksy Artworks Go To Auction In Auckland

AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND - JUNE 30: International Art Centre director Richard Thomson auctions off the Banksy screen prints at the International Art Centre on June 30, 2020 in Auckland, New Zealand. Three works by the anonymous street artist Banksy are being auctioned in Auckland. The auction is a rare opportunity for art collectors, with only one other Banksy piece thought to have been offered for sale in New Zealand before. The numbered screen prints of Golf Sale, Weston Super Mare and Soup Can are being sold by a private New Zealand collector who is selling them locally due to COVID-19 and the difficulty travel restrictions would pose on selling the artworks overseas. Banky's Golf Sale print fetched $45,000, his Super Mare print earned $41,000 and the artist's Soup Can print was sold for $52,000. (Footage by Phil Walter/Getty Images)
