New York City Approves Congestion Pricing

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – APRIL 15: (AUDIO OMITTED) The line number 7 NYC subway metro train travels through Long Island City in the borough of Queens as the MTA approved a controversial NYC congestion pricing plan, which would charge most cars $15 to drive into midtown and lower Manhattan during rush hour on April 15, 2024 in New York City. New York City is the first city in the United States to implement this type of system of tolling, and the revenue will finance capital upgrades to the city's transit infrastructure. The initiative is anticipated to bring in $1 billion a year.
