An Arpillera -a quilt-like form of popular art that tells a story- reading "The inhabitants of Huaycan want water, electricity and property titles" and designed by women displaced from their communities in the Andes during Peru's conflict (1980-2000) against the Maoist Shining Path guerrilla, is exhibited at the "Lugar de la Memoria" (Place of Memory) Museum in Lima, on June 2018. - Over 70 women have designed "arpilleras" telling their stories of survival, displacement and adaptation at the Mama Quilla community center in Lima.
