Twenty-five years ago Olinda was designated world heritage centre by the UNESCO. Founded in the 16th century by the Portugese, Olinda spreads across eight hills facing the sea, displaying a mixture of Portuguese, Dutch, black and Indian cultures in every street, in every house, patio and garden.
