Robert Kennedy Addressing Demonstrators

(Original Caption) Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy (right), using a hand amplifier and standing on a makeshift platform, addresses civil rights demonstrator in front of the Justice Department today. In answer to a question, Kennedy denied that there has been job discrimination at the Justice Department. He said the Justice Department hires on the basis of ability and integrity. I'm not going to go out, Kennedy said, and hire a Negro just because he is not white.
