British environmentalist David de Rothschild, founder the community of adventurous environmentalists Myoo, looks at one of his sculptures being installed on an island in the Xingu River, one of the Amazon’s biggest tributaries, near Altamira in the northern state of Para, on November 12, 2011. Sponsored by Myoo and with support of the NGO Amazon Watch, Rothschild mounted poles and sculptures to bring attention and stop the construction of an hydroelectric dam project by Belo Monte that will flood more than 40,000 hectares of rainforest -- and displace around 20,000 people.
