A 1959 Buddy Holly "Apartment Tapes" six-song acetate record featuring songs recorded weeks before Holly's death on display before an auction of the late singers memorabilia at the Heritage Auction Gallery in Beverly Hills on April 8, 2010. Items on auction include a never-released song, rare 45s of Holly's music, recording studio photos and tour pictures taken by Buddy and Maria Elena, and a selection of Holly's favorite cigarette lighters; and a grouping of his personal clothing and casual dress attire. Holly proposed marriage to Maria Elana on their very first date and were married for less than 6 months before Holly's death in a 1959 light plane crash.
