Ernest Hemingway Questioning Miguel Ramirez

(Original Caption) Facing a sea of questions put to him by famed novelist Ernest Hemingway (left), fisherman Miguel Ramirez denies that he is responsible for printed declarations attributed to him stating that the Cuban fisherman was the inspiration for Hemingway's Nobel Prize-winning novel, The Old Man and the Sea. "Papa" Hemingway, hearing the reports that Ramirez was being touted as "The Old Man" of the story, hurried to the fishing village of Cojimar, Cuba, and set the facts straight. Ramirez admitted that everything published was false and that he knew nothing about the whole mess.
