Australian Reptile Park north of Sydney

Tim Faulkner, head keper of mammals and birds at the Australian Reptile Park north of Sydney, completes a routine pouch inspection with Patch,a four year old Tasmanian Devil who gave birth to four joeys about two-and-a-half months ago. Patch and eleven other devils were trapped in a Tasmanian National Park in 2006 and are part of 'Project Ark', a breeding program which aims to create a healthy devil population free from the incurable facial cancer that is threatening the survival of the estimated 100,000 devils remaining in Tasmania, 30 May 2008.
