(Original Caption) New York: Tribute To Publisher Paid. A tribute to William Bradford, New York's first newspaper publisher, also a friend of Benjamin Franklin, was paid by the newspaper club and other clubs commemorating the 200th Anniversary of the founding of the New York Gazette Nov. 8, 1725. In 1732, Bradford encouraged the runaway Franklin to seek a job in Philadelphia. above left to right are shown Jack Auchmoody, Eagle Scout the 17 year old "B.
