Well preserved tunic which belonged to a powerful nobleman from the south coastal Peruvian part of the Inca empire,  It is composed of golden plaques sewn onto alpaca textile and probably came from a looted tomb.  It demonstrates the sophistication of textile and gold workers in pre Columbian Peru.
