The Texas-born rider booted home Mercenary for a seven dollar win in the first, ran out of the money in the second, seventh, and eighth and came in second in the other four races that day. So the final total win was stood at one, but his 485 mark still beat Tony Despirito's 1953 record by 95 victories.
